8 weeks and 9 weeks... and Stich

This week have been very buisy. Eat,sleep, work and some hours left for kitty-couddling.
One more day, and then there is Easter holiday.
I manage to make new pictures yesterday.

The smallest litter has a funny thing going on. We are wondering big time now if there is a "Stich" well hidden in their pedigree?
I never get one nice pictures of  "Blondie" or "Hazed". Every time my camera are around them, they get "Stich-ears" :D But we love our little Stich-wannabes dearly.

They have also the whole house to run and play in now. When there are 2 litters, and one litter are 10 days older - the biggest learn the smallest alot of stuff - like climbing over my little "fences".
But everyone is  totally litter trained now - so it is ok.
They have been in the second floor as well, but they are for the most in the 1.floor.

But they are so sweet and happy.
And every day when I come home from my work they are running to the door to welcome me home.
All 10 and all 10 are talking and purring - and tries to climb up my leg, of course all 10 at once - I feel very much loved:-))

Newest thing this week is that our two charming red and cinnamon boys after Ozzie and Jimmy - they are so lucky. They will have a forever home together.

Yesterday it was not easy to make any pictures. Think they did have a long siesta while I were at work, so when I came home they wanted to jump around and play. But I am sure it will be better pictures next time :-)

He has developed in to a very handome young boy, Huge, but so elegant and with lovely eyecolour,
And he has a temper who just has to be experienced. Purr pur purr.

Almost 7 and 8 weeks old

Hmm, what have happened this week?
Well, we have introduced the naughty sweethearts to white boiled fish. Not because fish is typical healthy cat food( because it's not) , but white boiled fish is almost like a sleepy medicine when oriental cats and kittens need to slow down their energy in the evenings ;-)
And with 10 kittens it is ALOT of naughtiness going on.
I was thinking to open up the whole livingroom for them - but then I'd change my mind. My legs are all scratched up and it is nice to have it calm with only the adults in one room.

All the kittens has so much fun together.
Bohemian - the blacktortie in Ozzie's litter like to hang together with the oldest kittens.
And Secret Fantasy loves to hang together with the smallest.
And all humans are a big favorite for everyone.
Little Maple Blondie has started to be a real stamp, so all this week she has been close to me all the time. She don't say so much - just sitting close to you and purring, and are very happy.

Both the mommies are sharing all the kittens - milkbar is open for everyone. That is one of the thing I really love with this breed  - babies are for sharing.

Nikita who was in Kristiansand some weeks after the last birth is now very loving and caring with the kittens. She just had to get rid of her jelousi first.

And Milla loves of course the kittens alot, like she always has.
*Hide and Seek* - she is always ready for some kitten-quality time.

And now the weeks pictures. I have always big problems to make nice pictures of our blue keeper. This time it was her brothers who did not want to sit still. But better luck next week, then there will be another one with "ants in her legs" :-)

We can start with the smallest babies.
The two first boys are for sale - they would love to have a wonderful forever pet-home together.

And Misty's babies . We are going to make some DNA tests about the colours - since there has been a little back and fourth about the boys. It takes time, because we are still waiting for the kits from Australia - and then it has to be sent back.
But Seven Sins are still for sale, and maybe also his classic tortie sister. She is on option, but that might change.

I know our fat blue "mouse" are very happy she will not move away from her mommy :-))

We will have some changes after Easter. Then one mommy and one litter will move down to Kristiansand. But more about that later. First we are going to celebrate Easter.

6 + 7 weeks old

Another week, and alot of changes in our home.
All the kittens run feely between the kitchen and smallest livingroom now. In the start I thought the smallest could visit the oldest babies  some hours each day - but they did not agree at all.
It is so much more fun to climb and jump in the sofa. The oldest babies don't mind - more playmates are always welcome. And Misty and Ozzie has opened their milkbar for everyone .

Now we have actually 40 baby-paws running around high and low. Even we vacuum and clean the area daily it is alot of fun with all these sweethearts.

We have often friends who are visiting us, and all the kittens love guests.  And sometimes both kittens and guests gets tired ;-)

Earlier this week we had one of our Vets visiting us.
To take a health check on Leo so he his ready for breeding - all were ok, of course :-)
But the main reason he came to us , was to make an ultrasound on Ozzie's babies.
In Ozzie's first litter in Nov-2013 we lost some of the kittens in the litter, in very different ages.
3 of them to intestinal invagination. I think many breeders in KAT IV have had an experience with the same, or they deffently knows someone who has had it. But in the breeder-world many are afraid to speak open about own problems.
I am not one of those - we are dealing with alive creatures, and things happens.

Anyway - we choose to take an ultrasound of the intestinals , because it was almost the same combination as the fatal litter , earlier.
But everything is ok with all 5 of the babies - they are as healthy as they can.

Hmm , I don't know how I can write this short, but I will try.
We and others has had alot of toughts about this problem. It is a line problem? Or do it just happens? I have never had any experience like this  - never. First time was in 2013 - 10 years after I started breeding.

We speak with alot of Vets, about alot.
And one Vet was very interested in this litter we had in 2013. She asked questions and we answered and explained.
Then she explained something for us as well.
In Ozzie's firs litter, Ozzie got a very damage birthcanal after the birth of very big kittens.
We took her to the Vet, was worried about pyo - but it was a huge infection in the birthcanal.
So she was put on AB - and it healed  very fast.
But even she was on AB - her babies drank her milk - and she had an infection. The infection went down to the kittens intestinals - and since the has not fully developed intestinals as newborns - the intestinal sometimes get damage.
Some kittens make it well after, some needs an operation, some kittens never makes it.
We lost 3 kittens in the age on 3 w, 5 w and 13 w, and the last one was the worst.
Such a big and healthy baby boy, and it changed so fast.

The Vet said that the kittens should back then also been medicated, and then probably all would have survived.
So not a typical line problem - but an infection problem.

Good to know in the future - if we gets a similar start of a birth.

We made this ultrasound of this litter anyway, just to be sure. Now we can sleep good at night:-)

So now they are ready to be reserved for future forever homes.
In that litter we have 2 boys for sale. More info about them under "Kittens".

Here are Ozzie and Jimmy's babies 6 weeks old :

And Misty and Chai's litter 7 weeks old :

March 8, 2015

5 + 6 weeks old

During this week, alot has happened.

Misty's babies has moved in to the smallest livingrom. I am able to make the livingroom in half, so now there is enough place for 6 week old kittens.
They was so exited about it, and in few hours they were running around on explore adventure :-)
Alot of new toys, some small climbing post , and my sofa is getting to know little paws and claws very well ;-) And if humans are sitting in the sofa, they use the human legs to climb up on - to get a nice lap to couddle in . So very normal and social oriental kittens they are.

They are better to eat solid food now - dry,raw and wet. Much better than last week, so I have seen them grown good just in a coulpe of days. Kittens start to eat when they are ready, and when they are ready - that is very individual.
But Misty, who is such a good mommy is so thin , so I am very happy they have started to eat by them selves now.

And.... some jugdes has seen my cats, and we have some colour changing going on.
I have not ordered pedigrees for them yet, but will do in in the end of the next week.
The bicolour boy is not creme, but fawn. I have noticed the colour was a bit strange, but the colour has darkened alot the last week.
So well, then we have a fawn.
Someone might want to have him in breeding, or he will have a forever home some place. He has been on option , but since his colour changing - he might  be avalible. Feel free to ask about him.

Here they are - 6 weeks old :

The smallest babies has moved out of their kittenrun in the kitchen.
It is probably not normal to have 5 weeks old kittens running freely, but the oldest babies learned them to climb out! And 10 kittens in the kitchen is too many pawsteps for me to watch carefully together with making warm food.
But they are placed safed in the kitchen. Will stay ther 1 or 2 weeks, and then all of them will be put together.
They are also very clever to use their toilets, and has started to taste carefully on solid food. They prefer raw and dry at the moment.

Their pattern is getting better and better on the agouti kittens, and their eyes are still dark baby blue. I am crossing fingers it will be like that for more weeks. Then it is possible they will get their daddy's nice green eyecolour.

During the next week, I will know who will be avalible out of this litter. In this litter we have a cinnamon boy. I have learn some colour signs to look and compearing.
Cinnamon comes is many different tones. And our cinnamon is very red. Anyway, he will be a happy pet, because his tail is unik and special :-)

Here they are 5 weeks old :

Bonus picture :

Someone knows very well how to charm. Blue is not my favorite colour, but this kitten could be pink or green - it wouldn't matter. She has just crawled in to my heart.

And at last. A couple of pictures of (N) Attack's Cupid's Coctail - one of our exports who moved to Sunny California before Christmas.
She is the smallest litters half sister - and all of us are so proud of her doing so well at CFA shows over there.

That was everything on this update.
I have plans of bringing my camera with me to Kristiansand soon , to make new pictures of Tiger.Ainur and Leo. Need some new pictures on their "male" page too.
The smallest boys are all grown up to handsome young adults.
Maybe I will take a little trip during this week. Depends on the weather :-)
