Our Facebook pages is always online

Our Summer babies are now leaving one by one to their new homes.

We are planning 1 or 2 litters during Winter 2023.

This page will not be very active for a while, but our Cattery page on Facebook are usually updated with pictures etc weekly.

Kittens are 7 w old - and some are looking for loving pethomes or to small catteries.

During this week the kittens are now aloud to the big cat tree and the puppy pen elements are just placed so the don't get to my PC and ELcords.

All 13 are big and very active. It's pure joy with all of them. A little different personalities of course, but all of them are so outgoing and charming that my heart wants to keep them all *lol*. But I feel I am still too young for the crazy catlady status :p So then we chose to make dessission with our head instead of our hearts , and need to look for the right homes for some of them.

We can start with the 3 days older litter.

Pebbles redheads , I sometimes call them my duracell bunnies. They are SO SO active! And all of them got their mothers size. Very big kittens, and probably will be very big cats as adult too.

Campari is on hold to a wonderful pethome.  This boy is so huge! And it's like a mini-elephant every time he runs around chasing the others while playing. He doesn't always treat his sisters like flowers either :D  I love his strong red colouring and his beautiful spots.

Just eaten his belowed Smilla chunks in saus, and don't have
good eating manners :D

Then it's the girls. We have a huge dilemma, because we still don't know who of the SIA girls who will be part of our next generation. So poor others who are interested, still need to wait a bit longer. All of them are beautiful in different ways with different qualitees. But Carolynn will soon come on visit, and hopefully we can make a dessision together.

We have actually decidet to keep 2 girls in the litter, so the OSH girl will be kept too. Their father is neutred, and we don't have plans for more litters from Pebbles either in our Cattery. Trying to keep the number of cats down on a reasonable number for them and our thriving.

Red Velvet is one of our keepers. I love her for her similarity to her grandmother and mother, She is a very beautiful little girl. Developing very slowly. Extremly naughty, but is an expert to charm, so she gets away with whatever she is up to :D

Marmalade - she is a very beautiful girl, but not easy to make pictures of. She just don't like it. She is a tiny bit calmer than her sisters, more adult'ish. But there are no "angels" in this litter. She do alot of naughtiness daily too - the others tricks her in to do anything. I like her alot for not giving me so many grey hairs like the other siblings.

Sunset is the one of them with the darkest eyecolour. Really really dark. It's so beautful. She is a medium talker, looks very innocent , but is quite the oposite. She has a big interests of her lykoi friends and are always close by them either napping or playing.

Clementine is more similar to her sister Red Velvet, always up to something when not napping. But in a more light version. She was the prettiest kittens  when she was little, but now 7 w later, all of them as developed very nicely.

So 1 or 2 girls are availible in this litter. Breeding to small catteries, or as pets in foreverhomes. We just need to talk with some other first, if they are still interested. But all requests are welcomed.

Our 3 Lykois

Finally some fur is growing back on them, so they are not so rubber'ish to couddle with anylonger.  But it has been for sure alot of fun and interesting weeks to follow them and learning. They are a bit strange to me still, but at the same time I love them for beeing so different.

Amulet - my little snugglebug. He has been very very special for me since he was born. Those extra special sweethearts. Someone who will end up with him will be very lucky. He wants to be picked up and snuggle all his awake time. If you don't pick him up, he start complaining.

Voodoo is also a charmer. But he is also happy to play with his OSH and SIA "siblings" and is a little bit less demanding for couddles if I actually need to do other things. Also the most naughty of them.

Vicca is a little princess or diva, or just maybe she just have a big dose of tortietude. Smallest ,but have full controll over her brothers. Her funny attitude has started to shown. She is very beautiful and I am exited for her future.

Both the boys are looking for the right homes, or maybe together ?

At last, Geishas precious :

Geisha has always given us beautiful kittens with amazing personalities. And because of the choose of the father, they are doubbled up with extremly couddle need. And both the parents are talkers big time!  The only girls will stay. I don't know who she reminds me of, not directly any of her parents at the moment. We have also chosen the keeper amoung the boys. It had to be one of the harlequin boys, and a red of course - since we love the red factor in our Cattery. All 5 are very beautiful, but we don't always agree on what's the right time to make pictures :D

So here is our keepers for the next generation :

Tornardo Twist

Cayenne

And then their brothers. We have some interests of them, but nothing is decidet yet. So you are welcomed to contact us about them.

Chess : He is the biggest of them all. Really big. He will be a "pony" as adult. He is very sweet, gentle and calm. Medium talker. A very easy going and laidback boy. Would actually been a keeper kandidat if I were looking for a neutred boy. I like those calm couddly boys, my ears do too.

Inferno : I gave him his name for his very strong red colouring. He is a very elegant medium sized boy. In type very much alike his only sister. He is something in between in personality of Chess and Love Potion I will write about downunder. Absolutly a sweetheart.

Love Potion : My heartbreaker nr 1 in this litter. He talks alot, he wants to keep all toys for him self, he want to decide absolutly everything and it's not hard to hear him when he has an opinion in any of his small life crizes :D  But when he is not eating, playing or sleeping - he loves to be carried and snuggle and get kisses. A  very demanding baby boy who charmes everyone easy!

All the SIA and OSH kittens are from PRA n/n parents - a special note to breeders if you are wondering.

The week goes fast, and maybe by 8w pictures the kittens want to cooperate with my camera. I am always an optimist :D

Kittens are now 6 w old - and some are looking for new homes

Another week has come to an end , and now all the kittens got full freedom. They are having the kitchen and smallest livingroom all by themself  , and LOVES their big space to run and play. All 3 litters are such good friends.

The Lykoi kittens :

In this litter, both the red boys are looking for their right homes. It has been a facination journey to follow them as fluffy newborns, to today almost naked.  The next weeks their special fur will start growing. Right now, me who is not used to naked cats - it's like couddle with warm rubber :D

Their temper and personalities are so adorable and sweet. Tiny little voices, but they do talk. Have the same energi like the OSH kittens.  Both the boys are climbers on humans - they want to be held in my arms as much as possible.

Geisha's kittens :

In this litter we have availible a black and white OSH boy. We are not sure yet if more boys will be looking for new homes yet.

Chess is a very big boy, high on legs and a very nice profile.  If you are looking for a new stud, we can send you more pictures, pedigree etc.  This litter is PRA N/N. He will be nice for Fife , but probably too big for CFA at least for show.

And the rest of his siblings :

And at last - Pebbles kittens :

a

In this litter we have availible 2 girls. 1 OSH and 1 SIA . Who of the SIA girls are not 100% decidet yet. We want to see how much white there will come on the keeper in this litter.  They are also very big like their mommy, Beautiful eye colour. Pebbles lines are slow, so they will get prettier week by week.

If you are looking for a red female for breeding, this is an unik chance. This litter is also PRA N/N.

In loving memory of 3 little angels.

Breeding is alot of work, alot of joy but also sometimes very hard. I have had some terrible heartbreaking days, and decidet a 5w update was not something I manage to do this week.

Even breeding for 19.5 years, I never get use to it, when joy turns to sorrows. We are dealing with alive animals, so it is expected that sad thing happens once in a while. But have to make a hard dessision on PTS 3 kittens in 2 days, who already has reach 5w of age is hard.

There is alot of scenarios in a cattery.

Viruses, bacterias, some genes that not fit together of course. Unknows bloodtype issues, home accidents that are maybe not fixable. Infections after birth passing on to the babies from a mother  - the list goes on an on.

An infection is something you can see, and then with help from your Vet, you might can fix it with the right medication. Some weak kittens might not make it, you can loose a whole litter, or maybe some few. Example for this is : Navel infections, G.strep or other bacterial stuff. Pneunomia, eye infections , Upper resporaritory problems.

Bloodtype issues are not a big problem for SIA/OSH. But we did actually, without knowing it first - bought an OSH with different bloodtype. And out of many kittens , only 2 survied. The Vet checked the bloodtype - and then we knew the problem. The cat was neutred ASAP. We didn't want this problem in our Cattery. That line was not so important that we wanted to deal with more problems like that.

If you are having a genetic problem, you can choose to close that line for further breeding.  We are breeding with only healthy animals, but noone can control mother earth!

But what do you do when everything seems pretty normal, but there is still serious problems that don't appear until later ? You might have a hunch, but you can be a control freak also , and there is maybe nothing to worry about after all ?

As a breeder you can only do your best, but not everything is fixable. And sometimes bugs shows up not from birth, but many weeks later.

Like kidney, liver or heart issues. Maybe you don't know about it before your first Vet check. But have the kittens reach that age, many of them can have good petlife in the right homes - where the owner follow up their baby often with Vet controls and with the right feeding etc. That can be a sad onetime happening, or a line problem. If it is a line problem - close that line please!

I want to tell about our 3 little angels that got a very short life.

Sparks

When Sparks was born he was a normal kitten. Some vage red flags popped up in my mind when the sight and hearing started. He could sudden be very afraid or even angry over movements or sounds if he wasn't aware of it.  But he was happy in his milkbarn and grow week by week. I had my eyes very close on him from that time. I might be wrong, but my stomac feeling was 50-50. Maybe he couldn't hear and see well either because of his scitchy behaveiour.

El Nino

Dirty Shirley

These two were our little micro kittens from start. But I have had some in the past who just needet a bit of extra feeding. They needet time to grow, but they made it with no problems - and are happy adults today. So I wasn't worried in the start. Then the weeks went by, and they were gaining so so slow. Shirley changed the milkbar, and moved to Pebbles. Just beause her kittens was in the all kittensafe plexirun . She was so little she would walk easy out if the puppyrun. The transition went perfect, and Pebbles loved her extra baby right away.

Somewere between 3 and 4 weeks when kittens start to wanting to explore more of the world - start walking, eating, littertraining etc - then the 3 showed me there was something else they struggled with.  With Sparks I have a feeling of a severe brain damage/ or maybe lack of oxygen during birth. He didn't want to eat, drink or use the toilet on his own.

The two smallest had probably some digesting problems - so their bodies didn't work like it should. They got food, but their bodies didn't use it as they should to grow. Maybe some organs or their digesting sympthomes was a problem from already laying in the uterus.

Because of their sizes I didn't dear to start with solid food. I was hoping they would start eating when they were ready.

I told about them on FB, but not in details.  I also wrote I do alot to help every kittens who need some extra help in a period. But with helping it is usually giving them extra milk and later food in a syringe. That is what every breeder would do in a period - and in a while they manage to do everything their littermates are doing. They just need some extra time.

But these  3 angels above couldn't be helped , even I did my very best. Their mind were still on the newborn stage in many things. Then I made the dession to PTS in the best interests of the kittens welfare.

If they had been just a little different  they might could grow up to maybe special need kittens , with small adjustable problems - we could have found wonderful forever pethomes for them with friends. Special need kittens are not for everyone , and they are absolutly NOT kittens we sells. We give them away, to special and dear friends - and friends knows the kittens story. And with help from a Vet - they can provide good homes for them.

But I choose different this time - because I was really not sure what their future life would become. Would it be a life with good qualitee ?  There were just too much going on with them.

The sadest part is that they apear ot be normal the first weeks of life. And because of that, there is abolutly not a rule that say PTS because of a maybe ? That would be cruel!

I don't know if it apears in the catworld , but few years ago some dogbreeds were PTS because of maybe coat lenghts or a colour or just a itty bitty tiny problem or defect.  So sad and horrible.

I did my very best, and I don't regret my sad choice in the end. I just wish all the signs would been visable much sooner. The longer we have them , the more we love them.

And for those who have not read on the FB page. This is one of the reasons why we ( and many other breeders) never are in any hurry with reserving a baby. We want to know it is healthy first. Then a deposit can be taken some weeks later, witch is refoundable if there is something wrong found at the Vet check. But 99 % of the time it goes well - thank goodness.

And at last - why did I write about it ? Well, I usually make updates about our babies from week 3. And wouldn't it be strange if sudden there was no update on all ? And again, I am not afraid of beeing open. We are breeders , not magicians.

Some breeders like to keep it private, and that is also totally ok. There are also other kinds of breeders. Breeders who sits on their high horses - jugding everyone else - always knows best and have all the correct answers.  And those breeders are there no hope for!! Rude people is really not my cup of tea!

Some breeders might suffor in silence also because of those jugdemental breeders above. They don't dear to speak open about things.

But how can be learn about things, if we are not sharing experiences ? Not everything can be read on internet or in a book. Some is learning by personal experience.

We will talk more about all this together with our closest breederfriends - and hope and pray this was a sad onetime experince.

The 6 weeks update of our other babies are comming this weekend.

Thank you everyone who wanted to read all this.

Summer kittens 4 weeks old

The babies are growing and thriving. All of them have started with litter training and some of them eats solid food. Raw is their favorite. Hopefully in a couple of weeks they will come together in the kitchen and smallest livingroom. Pebbles have adopted Geishas smallest girl. She was too little to stay in the new puppy-pen I bought. It is so wonderful when they love all the babies, no matters who have given birth to them. In Pebbles litter there are 5 very big babies, 1 medium and 1 still mini. The 5 big one are so chubby that they have all extra fatbags under their belly :D So their mommy is serving cream. I see alot of similarity to Pebbles mommy, Lily, in this litter. So their type will not bloom until their are a bit older.
The 3 Lykoi babies are so adorable and funny. If this is typical Lykoi temper, or if it is mixed with some OSH attitude, I don't know. The girl started with her molting very early. Now has her brother started to change too. I will miss their fluffy period, but it is very interesting to follow their journey - and learning more each day.
Geishas babies are blooming early, as usual. It is hard to pick a favorite. The Harlequin girl will stay and one of the boys. But Carolynn will come and see them live first.
We are still waiting some more weeks to follow their type and temper , before any dessision will be made about eventual keepers, right homes and availibility.
